Herkimer County HealthNet Announces Creating Healthy Places Recognition Luncheon, Friday March 2nd

HERKIMER – Herkimer County HealthNet will recognize municipalities and organizations at its inaugural Creating Healthy Places Recognition Luncheon set for Friday, March 2nd, 2012, 12:00 Noon at Francesca’s Banquets & Catering, Ilion, NY. Herkimer County HealthNet will be honoring the following organizations for their commitment to Creating Healthy Places in Herkimer County.

The Creating Healthy Places Recognition Luncheon is $15 a person, which also includes a chance to win a men’s or ladies Raleigh Venture Comfort Bicycle which has a value of $350. Herkimer County HealthNet is a New York State Department of Health funded Rural Health Network that administers the Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work and Play in Herkimer County grant. Creating Healthy Places to Live, Work and Play in Herkimer focuses on preventing obesity and Type 2 Diabetes by supporting and promoting environmental changes in Herkimer County.


Herkimer County HealthNet’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of individuals who live, work, play, and learn in Herkimer County.

About HealthNet

The HCHN has been in existence since 1990. Its membership has continuously expanded and has served as an effective forum for Herkimer County providers to identify, discuss, and resolve health and social service issues and concerns. As a direct result of grants by the New York State Department of Health: Office of Rural Health, the Network significantly increased levels of coordination and collaboration among health and social service providers.
